Amazon has launched a program that will allow some sellers using its platform to receive product refunds without customers having to actually return the item.
According to an Aug. 2024 news release, the Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA)’s “Returnless Resolutions” is a return management system that removes the physical reverse logistics process and allows customers to keep the items instead.
Sellers and customers utilizing the Returnless Resolutions program must be in “good standing” with the company. Customers who do not have a “history of abuse” are offered a returnless resolution, the company detailed.
Some products — dangerous goods, heavy and bulky items and those with an average sales price above $75 — are ineligible for the program.
Amazon said the program lowers fees associated with returns for the seller and increases convenience for customers.
FBA Returnless Resolutions does not have program fees affiliated with the program.
To ensure sellers are protected from potential abuse, returns through FBA Returnless Resolutions are monitored constantly for signs of fraudulent activity, Amazon noted.
