Electrical and automation products manufacturing giant Schneider Electric’s sustainability division was hit by a Cactus ransomware attack on Jan. 17.
The cyberattack has led to terabytes of stolen corporate data and disrupted the company’s cloud-based energy and sustainability platform Resource Advisor. The attackers are threatening to leak the stolen data if a ransom demand is not paid.
Schneider Electric officials said the attack was restricted to this one division, which operates autonomously and on isolated network infrastructure, so it will not impact other parts of the business, according to a company statement obtained by technology news site Bleeping Computer, where you can read the full report.
