Supply chain management software provider Blue Yonder revealed on Nov. 21 that its managed services hosted environment experienced disruptions due to a ransomware attack.
The Arizona-based company initiated an investigation and began working to restore the impacted services. In a Nov. 24 update, Blue Yonder said that there were no new developments pertaining to the restoration timelines since its previous update on Nov. 23.
The company had enlisted a cybersecurity firm to help with its investigation and recovery efforts but has not disclosed details about the attack.
As of the morning of Nov. 26, no ransomware group has taken credit for the attack.
Blue Yonder has numerous high-profile clients, with the company claiming to service 46 of the world’s top 100 manufacturers, 64 of the top 100 consumer product goods makers and 76 of the top 100 retailers. It also has dedicated wholesale distribution business unit.
A notable client affected by the service disruptions is Starbucks, which has confirmed the incident impacted its ability to manage employee schedules and process barista payments, according to media reports.
Blue Yonder solutions are used by U.S. grocery chains, including Albertsons and Kroger, as well as companies such as Ford, Procter & Gamble and Anheuser-Busch, though it is unclear if these companies have been affected. U.K.-based supermarket chains Morrisons and Sainsbury’s have confirmed disruptions due to the incident.
