Wynnchurch Capital Buys Trimlite - Modern Distribution Management

Wynnchurch Capital Buys Trimlite

With residential construction continuing to boom in this year, Wynnchurch is getting into the construction game via Trimlite’s door products.
Amid higher construction costs and rising interest rates, single-family housing starts have fallen to a two-year low, according to the National Association of Home Builders.

Wynnchurch Capital announced on Wednesday that it has bought Trimlite, which is a manufacturer and distributor of residential doors and related door products that’s based in Renton, Washington. Financial terms of the deal weren’t released.

Founded in 1982, Trimlite has developed a presence across the U.S. and Canada by providing products and value-added services to its network of wholesale distributors, dealers, local door retailers, and OEM customers. With residential construction continuing to boom in this year, Wynnchurch is getting into the construction game via Trimlite’s door products.

“Trimlite is well positioned to benefit from strong market tailwinds, and we look forward to partnering with management to pursue attractive organic and inorganic growth opportunities,” said Wynnchurch Vice President Kevin Hanley.

Wynnchurch Capital, L.P., headquartered in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont, Illinois, with offices in California, New York, and an affiliate in Canada, was founded in 1999, and is a middle-market private equity investment firm. Wynnchurch said its strategy includes partnering with middle market companies in the United States and Canada that “possess the potential for substantial growth and profit improvement.”

After the pandemic slowed some investments last year, private equity firms have become increasingly interested in acquiring distributors this year.
