Snap-on Inc. (NYSE: SNA), Kenosha, Wisconsin, reported first-quarter sales of $852.2 million, a decrease of 7.5% compared to the same period a year earlier. Profit increased 22.9% to $137.2 million.
Commercial and industrial group segment sales of $299.9 million in the quarter decreased 7% from the first quarter a year ago. Snap-on Tools Group segment sales of $375.9 million fell 8.4%. And repair systems and information group segment sales of $314.6 million decreased 4.1%.
