On Jan. 25, Columbus, Ohio-based industrial distributor Kimball Midwest said it will donate $1 million across the country during 2023 to honor the company’s 100th anniversary.
The company said it’s planning a series of events to honor its centennial throughout the year. For the million-dollar campaign, each sales region, corporate department and distribution center will receive money for associates to donate to a qualified charity of their choosing, the company said.
“Reaching a centennial is something only a small percentage of companies do,” said Kimball Midwest CEO Pat McCurdy Jr. “I couldn’t be prouder of every member of the Kimball Midwest team over the years for their contributions and keeping us green and growing to reach this milestone.”
The Kimball Company was founded in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1923. In 1984, it joined with Midwest Motor Supply, which had been founded in Columbus in 1933, forming Kimball Midwest.
The company said its centennial campaign also will include team volunteering efforts and events around the country throughout the year to celebrate the milestone.
