Fastenal Co. (Nasdaq: FAST), Winona, Minnesota, reported October sales of $488.2 million, down 0.4% from the same month a year ago. The company reported daily sales of $22.2 million, up 4.1% versus a year ago.
By region, U.S. sales grew 3%, Canada/Mexico sales grew 6.8% and “rest of world” sales grew 30.7%. By end market, manufacturing sales decreased 0.1% while non-residential construction sales decreased 9.9%, the company said. Safety sales continued to drive the company’s top line, increasing 32% while fasteners declined 4.7% and “other” improved 0.8%.
