On Thursday, Seattle, Washington-based Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) announced that it is hiring 75,000 new employees for its fulfillment and logistics operations across the U.S. and Canada.

Amazon benefitted from the COVID-19 pandemic as consumers turned to online shopping in droves due to shelter-in-place and quarantine policies. By hiring more logistics employees, the company is betting that demand will continue going forward.

With the U.S economy starting to gain traction again, companies across various industry sectors are struggling to find and hire qualified employees. Amazon is attempting to get ahead in the hiring game by offering various benefits and perks.

The new employees in the U.S. and Canada are slated to receive $100 if they’re already vaccinated for COVID-19. The average starting pay will be more than $17 an hour while Amazon is also offering signing bonuses of as much as $1,000.

“We look forward to hiring 75,000 associates across our fulfillment and transportation network,” said Alicia Boler Davis, Vice President of Global Customer Fulfillment at Amazon. “Working at Amazon also comes with an unwavering commitment to safety, especially as we continue to navigate a global pandemic.”

Amazon said in Thursday’s press release that the hiring process was already underway. The locations with the most job openings include Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Washington, and Wisconsin.
