AllPoints, a Mt. Prospect, Illinois-based foodservice parts and supplies provider, has agreed to a master distributor relationship with Dormont, a manufacturer of stainless-steel gas connectors with its U.S. office in Export, Pennsylvania.
AllPoints will take a “strong inventory position” of Dormont products, with a goal of improved Dormont fulfillment in an effort to reduce supply chain challenges for customers, AllPoints said.
“Dormont has earned a reputation as one of the foremost experts in the foodservice industry,” AllPoints President Tom Pendrey said. “Coupled with AllPoints’ national network of distribution centers, this master distributor relationship will help us better serve our customers, ensuring they have the parts they need when they need them.”
After conducting a market survey that spanned a year-and-a-half, Dormont found its customers relied on outside parts providers as primary parts suppliers “due to their inventory positions and next-day delivery options.”
“We also learned that parts and service companies prefer to only buy what they need versus being concerned about meeting freight prepaid levels from the manufacturer,” said Gregory Schurch, sales director for the gas business unit at Dormont.
