WESCO International, Inc., (NYSE: WCC) has announced that the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976, as amended, in connection with its previously announced merger with Anixter International Inc., expired on February 26, 2020. The expiration of the HSR Act waiting period satisfies one of the conditions to the closing of the proposed transaction, which remains subject to other customary closing conditions, including receipt of Anixter stockholder approval and other regulatory approvals.
WESCO struck a deal to acquire Anixter in January, a transaction estimated at $4.5 billion.
