Composable commerce software-as-a-service provider BigCommerce appointed Travis Hess as CEO.
Brent Bellm stepped down as CEO and Chairman of the Board. The Board elected Hess as a director to fill the vacancy left by Bellm’s departure, while current board member Ellen Siminoff will immediately take on the role of Executive Chair.
In his new role, Hess is tasked with overseeing BigCommerce’s global operations and ensuring the success and growth of the company.
“There is a tremendous opportunity ahead for BigCommerce, and Travis is the perfect leader to take the company through its next phase of growth,” Bellm said in an Oct. 3 news release. “I look forward to helping the team as we make this transition.
Hess joined BigCommerce as President in May 2024 and held senior leadership positions at commerce agencies and consultancies, including Accenture, where he led the firm’s direct-to-consumer commerce offerings and go-to-market strategy.
Prior to his time at Accenture, Hess was the Executive VP at The Stable. He also served on advisory boards for Shopify, Klaviyo, SAP/Hybris and Rackspace.
“The market has evolved tremendously over the past decade, and under Travis’ leadership, we are perfectly positioned to stay a step ahead of the competition and continuously drive value for our vast and growing customer base,” Siminoff said.
