September U.S. manufacturing technology orders totaled $321.8 million according to AMT – The Association for Manufacturing Technology. This total, as reported by companies participating in the USMTO program, was up 10.9 percent from August’s $290.3 million and down 49.6 percent when compared with the total of $638.8 million reported for September 2014.
With a year-to-date total of $3.1 billion, 2015 was down 16.6 percent when compared with 2014.
These numbers and all data in this report are based on the totals of actual data reported by companies participating in the USMTO program.
“Considering the growth in orders we’ve seen over the past two years, this decline is not as bad as it sounds,” said AMT President Douglas Woods. “It’s important to remember that 2014 was a top-performing year, and that some leveling off to minor pull backs are expected.”
