Employment in manufacturing showed little change in June after decreasing by 1,000 jobs in May, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Construction employment also saw little change in June after increasing by 11,000 in May. Overall, total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 222,000 in June, and the unemployment rate was little changed at 4.4 percent.
The number of unemployed persons, at 7 million, also saw little change in June.
