Bearings manufacturer The Timken Co. (NYSE: TKR), North Canton, Ohio, said Tuesday it has acquired Aurora Bearing Co., Montgomery, Illinois. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Privately owned and operated since its founding in 1971, Aurora manufactures rod ends and spherical plain bearings for a variety of industrial sectors, including aerospace and defense, racing, off-highway equipment and packaging.
The company employs approximately 220 people and expects 2020 sales to be around $30 million.
“Aurora builds on our global leadership position in engineered bearings by increasing our product breadth, which will help us serve the bearing space more completely,” said Christopher A. Coughlin, Timken executive vice president and group president. “The Aurora product line and market mix complements our portfolio very well.”
