Metalworking and MRO supplies distributor MSC Industrial Supply appointed Rob Aarnes to its Board of Directors as an independent member.

Aarnes has served as President of ADI Global Distribution — a commercial and residential security company — since 2017.

Like MSC, ADI is a fellow top distributor ranked No. 7 on MDM’s Top Distributor’s List for Electrical/Data/Security. MSC is No. 13 for Industrial Supplies, No. 6 for MRO, No. 4 for Fasteners and No. 5 for Safety.

“We are thrilled to have Rob join our Board of Directors,” MSC Chairman of Board Mitchell Jacobson said in an Aug. 27 news release. “The addition of an independent member to our board strengthens MSC’s corporate governance profile and represents another beneficial change from the reclassification agreement without shareholders.

Aarnes previously held senior leadership roles within specialty retail, private equity and consumer electronics retail companies ranging in revenue volume.
