Alanta-based specialty packaging distributor Veritiv acquired Arjay Company, including all assets of packaging equipment distributor PPE Sales.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Arjay is a distributor of packaging solutions and equipment, serving customers in Long Island, NY, and the Greater New York Metropolitan area. Established in 1980, the Edgewood, NY-based company offers next-day service for customers on almost all stock products.
“This acquisition is another investment in building on our industry-leading packaging distribution capabilities and national footprint by strengthening our geographic reach,” Veritiv CEO Sal Abbate said in a Dec. 13 news release. “Arjay Company brings to Veritiv a significant and well-established customer base in Long Island, NY – an area previously challenging to serve from our Northeast locations. Acquiring these types of businesses enables us to expand our national platform to better serve customers by combining the strength and scale of Veritiv with the entrepreneurial spirit of these well-run family businesses.”
This is Veritiv’s fifth acquisition in 2024 under the leadership of Sal Abbate. The company’s most recent previous acquisition was of Illinois-based PAX Global, completed on Nov. 4.
On Dec. 9, the company announced that TricorBraun acquired its Containers Business, previously called All American Containers.
Veritiv was No. 4 on MDM’s Top JanSan, Packaging & Disposables Distributors List.
