On March 31, Dallas-based rubber and fluid power products distributor Singer Industrial announced its acquisition of Uni-Draulik Inc., a Canadian distributor of hydraulic equipment. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Singer Industrial, which rebranded from SBP Holdings earlier this year, ranked as the No. 2 Hose/Hose Accessories Distributor and No. 36 Industrial Distributor on MDM’s Top Distributors list in 2022.
Founded in 2003, Uni-Draulik is based in Quebec, operating two locations in Quebec City and Val-d’Or. Uni-Draulik specializes in custom hydraulic system design, fabrication, repair and assembly of custom hose assemblies. The distributor primarily serves the construction, municipality and general industrial supply industries.
“We have been proud to serve Canada for decades,” Uni-Draulik owner Remi Cote said in a news release. “We are extremely confident that this transition will benefit our employees as well as our customers by providing the same excellent sales and service while providing a stronger network and expanded offerings.”
Uni-Draulik will join Singer Industrial’s Fluid Power Division, according to the release, with Cote continuing to manage the business. The acquisition of Uni-Draulik expands Singer Industrial’s North American footprint to approximately 85 locations with over 1,000 employees, the release said.
“Remi has such a great business,” Singer Industrial CEO Craig Osborne said in the release. “Our partnership with him and Uni-Draulik in Canada is mutually beneficial for our efforts to help customers with their fluid power and rubber hose products and services.”
“Remi and the entire Uni- Draulik team have built a profitable business by providing exceptional service to their diversified customer base,” Singer Industrial Fluid Power Division President Scott Wojciak said in the release. “We are very excited to have them join our team and look forward to expanding the sales of their custom-engineered machines across the Singer Industrial footprint.”
Singer Industrial has been active on the M&A front since selling its Bishop Lifting Products unit in February 2022. Singer’s recent acquisitions include Wyoming-based Hydrafab in March 2022; Idaho-based Mattson Distribution Company in August; North Carolina-based Catawba Industrial Rubber in September; and Florida-based Central Hydraulics in November.
