OTC Acquires American Industrial Corporation

The Columbus-based industrial distributor formerly known as Ohio Transmission Corp. announced the acquisition Wednesday.
On July 19, Lohr am Main, Germany-based mobile and industrial hydraulics manufacturer Bosch Rexroth, a subsidiary of Bosch, announced the acquisition of fluid power distributor HydraForce.

OTC Industrial Technologies — a Columbus-based industrial distributor and service provider previously known as Ohio Transmission Corporation — has acquired American Industrial Corporation.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

AIC, headquartered in Greenwood, Indiana, is a provider of liquid and powder finishing equipment, dispense application products and filtration products in the Midwest. The company has one sales and field service location serving customers in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

AIC has approximately 50 employees.

“For its over 50-year history, American Industrial Corporation (AIC) has served its finishing and powder coating customers with leading application knowhow, equipment systems design, fabrication and installation support,” said Bob Wilson, president of finishing, dispensing and filtration for OTC. “This acquisition is a key part of our strategy to expand our technical sales and service capabilities. We are excited to have AIC team join our family of OTC companies.”
