Huntsville, Alabama-based Inline Electric Supply Co. Inc. and Williams Electric Supply have reached a deal that will allow Inline to acquire Williams and create a fully employee-owned company.

Financial details were not disclosed.

“It is with great excitement that we announce the acquisition of Williams Electric Supply by Inline Electric Supply Company,” Inline announced over social media. “Over the last 18 years, John Hannah has shared many times that his dream would be to convert Williams Electric Supply into an employee‐owned company. This merger with Inline, which operates as a 100% employee‐owned ESOP, achieves that goal.”

Inline has grown to 19 locations in Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia. The combination of the two companies is expected to create a new entity that will have “significant strength and the resources to enhance our ability to serve our customers and continue our rapid growth in the middle Tennessee area,” Inline said.

“Both our companies share similar visions of doing everything possible to service our customers every day and with Williams employees now becoming employee‐owners, they will be more equipped than ever to provide that service to every customer,” the company said.
