The Canadian-based industrial distribution group Ficodis, owned by France-based Descours & Cabaud, acquired Berliss Bearing Company.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

In its 2nd U.S. acquisition this year, Ficodis added a Whippany, NJ-based company that specializes in manufacturing and distributing roller bearings, mechanical seals and bearing products. Berliss Bearing Company also offers pump seal assemblies and electric motor quality bearings.

“With the acquisition of Berliss Bearing Company, we can now offer tailored solutions to manufacturers across Canada and the U.S.,” Ficodis Group President Christophe Bévillard said in a Sept. 16 news release. “This acquisition not only diversifies our portfolio but also strengthens our presence in the U.S. market, particularly in serving key OEMs in diversified industries.”

Ficodis offers power transmission components, DNA solutions, safety equipment, cutting tools, hand tools, abrasives and maintenance products to customers in Canada and the Northeastern U.S. Ficodis said the acquisition expands its market presence in the U.S. and provides Berliss Bearing Company access to the Canadian market.

Ficodis’ most recent previous acquisition was of Long Island, NY-based LNR Tools and Supplies completed on May 2.
