On June 5, F.W. Webb announced the acquisition of two Pennsylvania-based plumbing, heating and industrial supply distributors: Rising Sun Plumbing Supply in Philadelphia and Steinberg Plumbing Supply in Elkins Park.
Rising Sun, established in 1989, and Steinberg, founded in 1953, have served Philadelphia, Bucks and Montgomery counties for decades. The facilities are one-stop shops for plumbing, heating and industrial supplies for residential, commercial and industrial projects.
“Greater Philadelphia is one of the largest markets in the Northeast,” said F.W. Webb Chief Operating Officer Bob Mucciarone in a news release. “We are excited to offer our wide array of products and exemplary service to our expanded customer base”
Both locations will operate under the F.W. Webb umbrella. Rising Sun and Steinberg employees are joining the F.W. Webb team, including former owner Ed Preston, who will serve as store manager at the Philadelphia location.
Webb’s newest locations will offer customers both delivery and will-call options to help simplify and expedite purchases.
F.W. Webb took three spots on MDM’s 2023 Top Distributor List: No. 6 on the Top HVACR Distributors list, No. 6 on the Top Plumbing Distributors list and No. 21 on the Top Industrial Distributors list.
This acquisition establishes the company’s third and fourth wholesale locations in the state of Pennsylvania, joining existing locations Allentown and Aston.
This month, F.W. Webb also opened its eighth New Jersey location, a 22,000-square-foot facility in Tinton Falls which will stock plumbing, heating, HVAC, refrigeration and PVF from the industry’s top manufacturers.
In June, Webb was named one of “America’s Greatest Workplaces for Job Starters 2023” and one of “America’s Greatest Workplaces for Women 2023” by Newsweek.
