Waterworks and plumbing products distributor EGW Utilities Inc., Carrollton, Texas, this week announced it has acquired Buy Wholesale Company LLC, Montgomery, Texas. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
BWC was founded by Karl Knapp in 1985. He and his wife, Tracy, operated it until this acquisition. EGW said the addition of BWC greatly increases the company’s waterworks and plumbing product offerings and enhances customers’ selection, shipping and inventory options.
“The Knapps have built a company that we are very proud to make part of the EGW Water & Plumbing Group,” said Phil Wiegers, EGW’s founder and CEO. “BWC’s reputation for quality products and customer service is something we’re excited to carry forward and share with even more wholesale distributors across the nation in the near future.”
EGW plans to relocate BWC’s inventory, equipment and other assets from its existing facility in Montgomery to EGW’s warehouse in Carrollton by the end of 2020. The Knapps will work with EGW for the next several months to aid in the transition, and BWC will continue to operate in its current location until the move is complete.
