Houston-based pumping solutions and industrial supplies distributor DXP Enterprises acquired Burt Gurney & Associates (BGA) and MaxVac, Inc.
Terms of the transactions were not disclosed, but DXP said it financed the acquisitions using cash from its balance sheet.
Omaha, NE-based BGA is a manufacturers representative in the wastewater treatment and municipal water industry. The company reported fiscal sales of $11.7 million for the 12 months ended Sept. 30.
MaxVac is a provider of vacuum pump sales, repair and maintenance services for the Central Valley and San Francisco, CA markets, specializing in the electronics, semiconductor, food & beverage, pharmaceutical and biomedical sectors. The company reported fiscal sales of $1.6 million for 2024.
“The addition of BGA furthers us in our mission to build DXP Water into a full-line products and service focused platform servicing the municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment markets,” DXP CFO Kent Yee said in a Nov. 6 news release. “MaxVac provides us with a new platform to continue to scale and build vacuum pump, repair and maintenance capabilities.”
“Both are well-run businesses focused on providing value-added products and services to the water and vacuum pump markets,” DXP Chairman and CEO David Little added. “BGA will provide DXP’s Water division with new geographic territory and MaxVac will provide enhanced product and reach for DXP’s vacuum pump capabilities.”
DXP reported its 2024 third quarter financial results on Oct. 31. The company posted 3Q sales of $472.9 million, up 12.8% year-over-year, likewise gross margin of 30.8% was up 80 basis points.
