Cincinnati-based industrial distributor CBT Company has acquired Crush Bearings and Drives, the company announced May 11. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1933, Crush Bearings and Drives is a distributor of mechanical power transmission and motion control products. Crush specializes in bearings and belts and also offers services including motor and gearbox repair, hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder repair, machining and fabrication. The company is based in Lexington, Kentucky, with an additional location in Louisville, Kentucky.

“Like us, CBT is a family-owned business that focuses first on customer service and providing customer solutions,” Crush Bearings and Drives owner Bob Crush said in a news release. “Partnering with an organization like CBT will enable us to expand the products and services we can offer our customers.”

“Bob Crush and his whole organization have built a wonderful business and earned an outstanding reputation throughout Kentucky,” CBT President Jay Stahl said in the release. “The entire CBT team is very excited to welcome the Crush Bearings and Drives family to the CBT family. This is a great opportunity to do more together than we could ever accomplish individually. We will maintain the Lexington and Louisville facilities and leverage our combined personnel, products and services to provide an even better value proposition to our customers.”

The acquisition was finalized on May 1, according to the release.

CBT Company ranked No. 20 on MDM’s Top MRO Industrial Distributors list in 2022 and narrowly missed MDM’s Top 40 Industrial Distributors list.
