Canton, MA-based BSC Industries acquired fellow bearings and power transmission products distributor Warren Pike, which operates via subsidiaries Warren Pike, Cohen Machinery CO. and W.M. Steele across New England.
BSC is owned by Chicago-based Benford Capital Partners — a private equity firm — while Warren Pike was owned by seller Jim Gibney and J.G. Industries, Inc.
Founded in 1972, Hopkinton, MA-based Warren Pike serves OEM and MRO customers in a range of industries as an independent distributor of power transmission, motion control, fluid power and bearings.
Warren Pike employees will retain their current positions and Jim Gibney will continue in a Senior Sales Advisor Role.
“Jim and his team have built a terrific company over the past 50+ years by providing exceptional customer service to its loyal customer base,” BSC CEO Peter Fitzpatrick said in an Aug. 20 news release. “We’re excited to work in partnership to expand upon these relationships with BSC’s expansive product line card and value-added service offerings.”
BSC operates six additional locations in New England and serves OEM and MRO companies both nationally and internationally. The news release noted the acquisition enables BSC to create cross-selling and cross-supplying opportunities across the customer bases of both companies.
“It was great to work with the BCP and BSC teams throughout this process,” Gibney said. “The acquisition by BSC will enable us to expand our product offerings, grow our team and enhance customer resources.”
