Metalworking and MRO supplies distributor BlackHawk acquired Tri-State Industrial Supplies of PA, marking its 12th deal since the start of 2022.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

New Britain, PA-based Tri-State tests cutting-edge tools directly at the spindle to ensure performance and deliver measurable cost savings to its customers. Established in 1986, the company serves customers in the Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey regions.

“Our primary goal is to be the most valuable resource in the industrial sector through continuous improvement and increasing our customers’ productivity,” BlackHawk Industrial President and CEO John Mark said in an Aug. 21 news release. “Expanding our presence into the Mid-Atlantic market underscores our strategic vision to deliver unmatched value across the industry. The addition of Tri-State’s talented team is a pivotal milestone in our national growth strategy, and we are energized by the possibilities this collaboration will unlock for our customers and our business.”

This is BlackHawk’s second acquisition of 2024, following Richardson, TX-based Factory Outlet Tooling in May.

“In joining forces with BlackHawk, we recognize the immense potential to elevate our service offerings to unprecedented levels,” Tri-State VP and Sales Manager Amy McNutt said. “BlackHawk’s exceptional resources and expansive product lines will not only enhance our customers’ efficiency but also empower our team with a robust toolkit and a wealth of expertise beyond what we could achieve alone.”

BlackHawk — No. 34 on MDM’s Top Distributor’s List for Industrial Supplies and No. 15 for MRO — operates across the U.S., Mexico, U.K. and the Philippines, offering over 2.5 million products.
