Marietta, GA-based conveyor systems belting and components distributor and fabricator Belt Power acquired the U.S. assets of Grand Rapids, MI-based Sparks Belting Company.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Established in 1946, Sparks is a manufacturer and distributor of process conveyor belting systems, conveyor accessories and power transmission products. The company operates from nine facilities in the U.S. and one in Mexico, offering customers conveyor belting, modular plastic belting, urethane timing belts and motorized pulleys.

Belt Power said the merger enables the company to provide innovative, cost-saving solutions to customers nationwide by utilizing its fully integrated network of automated fabrication operations, installation service teams and a technical sales team supported by application engineers.

“We are excited to join forces with the Sparks team that has a legacy of innovation in the belting industry for over 79 years,” Belt Power CEO Don Heitmeier said in a Jan. 15 news release. “The combination of our strong cultures and investments in our business creates an awesome opportunity for us to further develop leading edge solutions to address our customers’ ever evolving requirements.”

Belt Power operates more than 25 locations across the U.S., providing customers with a wide range of conveyor system components, such as conveyor belts, accessories, power transmission products, rubber hoses and gaskets. The company serves a variety of industries, with a particular focus on food, packaging, recycling, pharmaceuticals, industrial and material handling sectors.

The company made two acquisitions during 2024, including its acquisition of Grand Rapids, MI-based Mol Belting Systems, completed on June 20.
