Swedish industrial manufacturer Atlas Copco says acquisition of Eugen Theis GmbH will expand presence in Germany.

Swedish industrial manufacturer Atlas Copco on Monday announced it has acquired a majority share of Eco Steam and Heating Solutions (E.K.S. HOLDING B.V.), an industrial steam and hot water boiler company located in the Netherlands. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Eco Steam and Heating Solutions is based in Tilburg, in the Netherlands and has 23 employees. The company develops, rents, and sells customized industrial boiler assemblies tailored for plug and play installation. Eco Steam and Heating Solutions serves European customers, primarily in the general industry, such as food and beverage, chemical, steel, pharmaceuticals, and the energy sector.

“Eco Steam and Heating Solutions is a leading company in its field of expertise in their region” said Andrew Walker, business area president, Power Technique. “The acquisition is in line with our strategy to strengthen and expand our specialized rental product offering to industrial customers in all segments and territories.”

“We have had a successful partnership with Iberica Vacuum in Spain and Portugal since its founding in 2007,” said Geert Follens, Business Area President Vacuum Technique. “Through this acquisition we will get the opportunity to better serve current customers and further strengthen our market presence for the Edwards brand in this key region of Southern Europe.”

The company will become part of the Specialty Rental division within Atlas Copco’s Power Technique Business Area.
