United Rentals, Inc. (NYSE: URI), Stamford, Connecticut, reported sales of $2.3 billion for the second quarter, up 21.1% compared to a year ago. Earnings were $270 million, flat compared with a year ago.
For the first six months sales grew 21.5% to $3.8 billion. Profit decreased 1.8% to $445 million.
United Rentals completed the acquisitions of BakerCorp International Holdings, Inc. and Vander Holding Corporation and its subsidiary, BlueLine, in July 2018 and October 2018, respectively. BakerCorp and BlueLine are included in the company's results subsequent to the acquisition dates.
