The United Distribution Group has acquired Dandy Specialties Inc., Abilene, TX. Dandy is an industrial distributor of specialized drilling rig and wellhead components comprised of three facilities in Abilene, TX; Odessa, TX; and Hobbs, NM. 

Dandy will operate as a division of McCarty Equipment Co., a subsidiary of UDG's GHX Industrial. GHX, headquartered in Houston, TX, provides fluid sealing (gaskets), fluid transfer (hoses) and other products to a variety of industries, including power generation, refining and petrochemical, mining, agriculture, marine and upstream oil and gas enterprises.

Kelly McCarty, president of McCarty Equipment, said the addition of Dandy will help the company to expand its product and service offering to the upstream gas and oil industry. Dandy former owner Andy Weatherby along with the rest of the Dandy team will remain with the organization.
