Ingersoll-Rand plc (NYSE: IR), Swords, Ireland, reported second-quarter sales of $4.4 billion, a 2% decrease compared to the same period a year ago. The company reported a profit of $456.1 million, up 1.8% compared to the year-ago period.
For the first six months sales increased 4.7% to $8.1 billion. Profit grew 15.3% to $664 million.
