AmerisourceBergen Corp. (NYSE: ABC), Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, reported sales for the fiscal third quarter ended June 30 of $45.2 billion, an increase of 4.9%. The company reported a profit of $302 million, up 8.7% from the same period the prior year.
Pharmaceutical Distribution Services revenue was $43.5 billion, an increase of 4.7% compared to the same quarter in the prior fiscal year primarily due to continued strong specialty product sales, increased volume associated with the growth of some of its largest customers, and overall market growth.
For the first nine months, sales were $133.9 billion, up 7.5% year-over-year. The company reported a profit of $721.8 million, down from $1.4 billion the prior-year period.
