Kimberly-Clark Professional Segment Sales Increase 11% in 4Q

Texas-based papermaker Kimberly-Clark announced Jan. 25 the 2022 fourth-quarter fiscal results for its K-C Professional (KCP) segment.

KCP, which is Kimberly-Clark’s professional workplace solutions segment, posted 4Q sales of $800 million, an 11% year-over-year increase and up from the 5% year-over-year increase in 3Q (during which KCP also posted sales of $800 million).

Changes in foreign currency exchange rates decreased sales 5%, the company said in a news release, while 4Q operating profit of $163 million increased a whopping 126% year-over-year. KCP’s results benefited from higher net selling prices, a favorable product mix and cost savings, according to the release.

Companywide, Kimberly-Clark’s 4Q net sales were $5 billion, which was roughly the same as 4Q21, including organic sales of 5%. For the full year 2022, Kimberly-Clark posted sales of $20.2 billion, a 4% year-over-year increase, while organic sales increased 7% and net selling prices rose 9%.
