Core & Main LP, St. Louis, Missouri, a distributor of water, sewer and fire protection products, said Tuesday that it has closed on its previously announced agreement to acquire Water Works Supply Co., a New Jersey-based waterworks distributor. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

The acquisition marks Core & Main’s 11th transaction since becoming an independent company in August 2017. The distributor is the former HD Supply Holdings Inc. Waterworks business that was sold to the private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice for $2.5 billion.

“We’re excited to welcome the Water Works Supply team into the Core & Main family,” said Jack Schaller, president of Core & Main Waterworks. “Our combined teams will build on their best practices so we can strengthen service to all our customers in New Jersey. We expect to grow this business as we expand our customer base.”
