Atlas Copco Completes MEDGAS Acquisition

Company’s latest addition is a German mechanical contractor for the medical industry.
Swedish industrial manufacturer Atlas Copco says acquisition of Eugen Theis GmbH will expand presence in Germany.

Swedish manufacturer Atlas Copco announced Wednesday that it completed its acquisition of MEDGAS-Technik GmbH, a German-based manufacturer, distributor, installer and service provider of medical air and medical vacuum systems, pipeline equipment and medical supplies. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

MEDGAS is headquartered in Berndroth, Germany, and has 80 employees. The company has branch offices in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In 2019 the company had a revenue of approximately SEK 126 million (US$14.5 million).

MEDGAS will become part of the Medical Gas Solutions division in Atlas Copco’s Compressor Technique business area.
