SPX Corp., Charlotte, NC, reported sales for the second quarter of $412.9 million, down 10.1 percent from the same period a year ago. Profit was $4 million, down from $38.9 million in the prior year.
HVAC sales for the quarter were $121.9 million, up 3 percent from a year ago.
Year-to-date sales decreased 4 percent year-over-year to $802.2 million. Profit was $17 million, down from $31.8 million in the prior year.
