Consumer products company Spectrum Brands Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: SPB), Middleton, WI, reported fiscal 2017 sales of $5 billion, down 0.6 percent from 2016. The company reported a profit of $297.1 million, down 16.9 percent over last year.
In the fourth quarter, global batteries and appliance sales increased 2.7 percent, hardware and home improvement increased 6.3 percent and global pet supplies increased 5.1 percent. Home and garden increased 26.3 parent and global auto care increased 1.9 percent.
Sales for the fourth quarter were reported at $1.3 billion, up 5.8 percent year-over-year. Profit was $94.7 million, up 6.3 percent.
