The Sherwin-Williams Company (NYSE: SHW), Cleveland, OH, reported sales for the second quarter ending June 30 of $4.8 billion, up 27.8 percent from the same period in 2017. Profit increased 26.3 percent to $403.6 million.
Sales for the first six months increased 34.5 percent to $8.7 billion. Profit increased 17 percent to $653.7 billion due primarily to the addition of Valspar sales, higher paint sales volume in The Americas Group and selling price increases.
Sales in the Americas group increased 7.7 percent to $2.6 billion in the quarter and increased 7.2 percent to $4.7 billion in the first six.
Sales of the consumer group increased 45 percent to $777.7 million in the quarter and increased 66.9 percent to $1.4 billion.
