Manufacturer Rockwell Automation Inc. (NYSE: ROK), Milwaukee, WI, reported sales for the fiscal third quarter ended June 30 of $1.6 billion, a 1.5 percent increase year-over-year. Profit decreased 2 percent to $199.7 million.
"We experienced strong year-over-year growth in architecture & software, while sales in control products & solutions declined modestly, primarily due to very strong sales in our solutions and services businesses last year," said CEO Keith Nosbusch.
Architecture & software sales for the third quarter were up 7 percent, while control products & solutions sales were down 2 percent.
Fiscal year-to-date sales were $4.8 billion, up 4.4 percent over the prior-year period. Profit increased 6.8 percent to $578.1 million.
