Pentair plc (NYSE:PNR) reported third-quarter 2017 sales of $1.2 billion, up 1 percent from last year. Core sales were down 1 percent. Profit was $125 million.
"We delivered strong margin expansion and earnings growth in the third quarter, led once again by strength in our Residential, Commercial, and short-cycle Industrial businesses," said Randall J. Hogan, Pentair CEO.
Year-to-date sales were $3.67 billion, down from $3.7 billion in the same period last year. Profit was $476 million.
