Newell Brands (NYSE:NWL), Atlanta, GA, reported sales for 2016 of $13.3 billion, an increase of 124.2 percent year-over-year. Profit increased 50.8 percent to $527.8 million.
Sales for the fourth quarter were $4.1 billion, an increase of 165 percent year-over-year. Profit increased to $165.6 million from $13.2 million.
The sales increase was primarily due to the inclusion of net sales from the acquired Jarden business in April 2016. Since the completion of the Newell Rubbermaid and Jarden combination, the company also began post-merger restructuring.
