National Oilwell Varco Inc. (NYSE: NOV), Houston, TX, is partnering with Saudi Aramco to form a joint venture that will provide high-specification land rigs, rig and drilling equipment and offer certain aftermarket services in Saudi Arabia.
The companies also said the project will establish an education center to train Saudi technicians in the maintenance and operation of the drilling technology the venture will bring to the region.
The joint venture adds to National Oilwell Varco’s growing manufacturing footprint in the Middle East and will create jobs and economic growth in Saudi Arabia and its operations around the world, including the United States, the company said.
