Kaman Corp. (NYSE: KAMN), Bloomfield, CT, reported third-quarter sales of $433.7 million, down 4.9 percent over the same period a year ago. Profit increased 16.5 percent to $17.2 million.

Distribution sales fell 2 percent for the third quarter to $296.3 million. Aerospace sales dropped 10.4 percent to $137.4 million for the quarter.

For the first nine months, Kaman Corp. sales were $1.3 billion, up 0.4 percent year-over-year. Profit increased 20.7 percent to $51.7 million.

Year to date, distribution segment sales increased 6.1 percent to $911.8 million; aerospace segment sales decreased 10.2 percent to $411 million.
