HD Supply Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: HDS), Atlanta, GA, reported sales for the fiscal second quarter ended Aug. 2 of $2 billion, an increase of 6.7 percent year-over-year. Profit was $109 million for the quarter, more than double its profit of $48 million in the second quarter the previous year.
"We took transformative actions this quarter, including the announcement to sell our Power Solutions unit," said CEO Joe DeAngelo. "We continue to focus on controllable execution that enables customer success, extends our differentiation and accelerates value creation."
Second-quarter sales for Facilities Maintenance were up 6.9 percent year-over-year to $733 million, Waterworks sales were up 5.6 percent to $702 million and White Cap sales increased 10.8 percent to $431 million.
