Engineering and construction firm Fluor Corp. (NYSE: FLR), Irving, TX, reported sales for the third quarter of $4.9 billion, an increase of 3.7 percent compared to the same period a year ago. The company's profit of $94.5 million was up from a profit of $4.8 million a year ago.
Year-to-date sales were $14.5 billion, up 3.2 percent over the prior-year period. Profit decreased 37.9 percent to $131 million.
