The Fastenal Company (Nasdaq: FAST), Winona, MN, reported sales for October of $338 million, a 5.1 percent decrease year-over-year. Daily sales also decreased, 0.8 percent to an average of $15.4 million.
During the month, sales to manufacturing customers fell 0.7 percent, while sales to nonresidential construction customers fell 4.7 percent.
Store count was 2,626, compared to 2,647 a year ago. Employee headcount increased 11.2 percent year-over-year to 20,527.
