Encore Wire Corp. (NASDAQ Global Select: WIRE), McKinney, TX, reported sales for the second quarter of $291.5 million, a 22.1 percent increase year-over-year. Profit for the quarter increased 39.7 percent to $10.9 million.
Copper unit volume, measured in pounds of copper contained in the wire sold, increased 8 percent in the second quarter.
Sales for the first six months were $570.9 million, up 23 percent year-over year. Profit increased 49.4 percent to $24.6 million.
