Curtiss-Wright Corp., Charlotte, NC, reported sales for the first quarter of $503.5 million, a decrease of 8 percent compared to the same period a year earlier. Organic sales decreased 7 percent. Profit was $32.8 million, compared to $16.8 million the prior year.
First quarter sales reflect continued lower demand in the energy sector within the commercial/industrial segment.
