B/E Aerospace Inc. (NASDAQ: BEAV), Wellington, FL, reported first quarter sales of $690 million, an increase of 7 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Profit increased 22.8 percent to $77.6 million.
First-quarter commercial aircraft segment sales increased 0.5 percent to $526.1 million, with operating earnings up 5.7 percent to $98.4 million, compared with the prior-year period.
Business jet segment sales increased 35.2 percent to $163.9 million, while operating earnings of $27.3 million increased 29.4 percent from the prior-year period.
