Avnet Inc. (NYSE: AVT), Phoenix, AZ, No. 1 on MDM's 2015 list of top electronics distributors, reported sales for the first quarter ended Oct. 3 of $7 billion, up 1.9 percent over the same period a year ago. Profit increased 1.8 percent to $130.3 million.
Electronics marketing sales for the fiscal first quarter were up 2.2 percent year-over-year to $4.5 billion, and technology solutions sales were up 1.3 percent to $2.5 billion.
